La Jetée, Homage (2004)
35mm film slide collages/ projection in public space
Artwork made on the occasion of the screening of Chris Marker’s seminal film La Jetée, on a rooftop at Omonoia Square, at the center of Athens.
The artwork comprises a series of 30 slides made by re-photographing a projection of the film and manually superimposing and painting the final slides. A second set of 20 slides contained white on black text, fragments of the film dialogues and narration. The projection was made with 2 projectors and was sent to the surrounding buildings.
